Мета: Навчальна: вчити учнів усному монологічному мовленню по темі; Розвивальна: розвивати вміння стисло переказувати текст та відповідати на питання, ознайомити з новою лексикою уроку, удосконалювати техніку читання; розвивати вміння аудіювати текст, розвивати ерудицію учнів, здатність аналізувати прочитане, вміння уважно слухати; Освітня: розширити знання учнів про світ книги; Виховна: прищеплювати любов до читання.

Обладнання: підручник, картки для індивідуальної роботи, з текстом для читання «Books», для аудіювання.

Тип уроку: подача нового матеріалу

ХІД УРОКУ

І. Підготовка до сприйняття іншомовного мовлення

1. Привітання/Greeting

T: Good morning! How are you today?

Ps: Good morning, teacher! We are fine, thanks.

2. Повідомлення теми та мети/Aim

T: Today we are going to speak about books. We’ll find out what books were many years ago and what kind of books have recently appeared. We’ll also learn the prepositions. But first let’s do warming up.

3. Уведення в іншомовну атмосферу/Warming up

Бесіда в режимі T→P1→P2→P3

T: Are you fond of reading? Is there a book you’ve read several times? Do somebody (parents or teacher) makes you read books or are you a passionate reader? Do you always read a book to the end? Do you put aside a book that seems dull to you?

2.     Подання й опрацювання лексичного матеріалу/Presenting and practicing vocabulary

1)    Ознайомлення з новим лексичним матеріалом

Учитель роздає картки із завданням. Учні мають поєднати слова в пари з допомогою вчителя, по закінченні 2-3 учнів читають нові слова. Слова учні переписують вдома і вивчають на пам'ять.

Учні виконують завдання на картках. По закінченні роботи 2-3 учнів читають речення.

3)    Ознайомлення з прислів’ями за темою.

(Учитель пише на дошці прислів’я, учні поділяються на групи і пишуть значення кожного з них, хто найкраще пояснить, той і переможе.)

3.     Подання тексту для читання/Reading (на карточках)

1)    Етап підготовки до читання.

а) Бесіда в режимі T→P1→P2→P3.

T: Today we are going to read a text “Books”. What is a book? What is an audio book/electronic book?

б) Презентація нової лексики тексту.

Учні продивляються текст і знаходять у ньому незнайомі слова. Учитель пояснює значення нових слів і просить учнів записати їх до словників.

2)    Етап читання.

T: Let’s read the text now.

Спочатку учні мовчки читають текст. Потім учитель просить учнів зачитати певні фрагменти тексту.

T: Find in the text:

·        the definition of the word “book”;

·        the difference between books and periodicals and newspapers;

·        the difference between a book and a diary;

·        the passage describing what the term book is applied to;

·        the passage describing new types of books.

HO3:

Read the text.

BOOKS

         Book is a volume of many sheets of a paper bound together, containing the text, illustrations, music, photographs, or other kinds of information.

         Books may from part of a series, but they differ from periodicals and newspapers because they are not published on a strict daily, weekly or monthly schedule. Unlike a private dairy, which may be in book form, a book is intended for public circulation.

         The term book is applied to the scrolls used in the ancient world, even though they do not fit the modern definition of a book. In an editorial sense the word “book” can also refer to some ancient literary works, such as the Egyptian Book of the Dead, or to major divisions of a literary work, such as the book of Bible.

         In the mid- and late 20^th century, technological advances expanded the definition of the book to include audiobooks and electronic books, or e-book. Audiobook are recordings made on cassette, compact disc, or downloadable computer programmes. Electronic books are portable computerized devices that allow readers to download text and then read it, mark it up, and bookmark it. The term “e-book” is also used to refer to the concept of a paperless book, whether it is read on a specially designed e-book device, a personal digital assistant (PDA), or a desktop or laptop computer.

3)    Етап перевірки розуміння тексту

Учні працюють в парах: складають план розповіді, а потім переказують текст за планом.

4.     Аудіювання/Listening comprehension

Учитель двічі читає діалог. Учні слухають і заповнюють таблицю. По закінченні роботи вчитель викликає одного учня. Той читає виконане завдання, інші перевіряють його.

The Last Book I’ve Read

-         Well, Leo, you really enjoy reading, don’t you?

-         That’s right.

-         Are you reading anything at the moment?

-         Actually I have just finished reading a book and haven’t a new one.

-         What book is that?

-         “The Woman in White” by Wilkie Collins.

-         And when was it written?

-         As far as I remember it was just written in the 19^th century. So it’s quite classical.

-         Well, what kind of book is it?

-         It’s a detective story with a bit of romance, but it’s really a good detective story.

-         Yes, I’ve heard of it. Ok, what is it about?

-         Well, it’s basically about mistaken identity. The woman in white looks very much alike a young lady called Miss Fairlie… In fact the main character is a young artist Walter Hartwright who teaches those two ladies to paint… And he falls in love with Miss Fairlie. But she can’t get married him because he is too poor, so he marries someone else…

-         Oh, dear!

-         And then he hears that she died, but she suddenly appears…It comes out that it was the woman in white that actually died, not Miss Fairlie.

-         Ah! I think you really enjoyed reading this book.

-         It’s just terrific! I couldn’t put it down!

-         That’s great. Thank you very much.
